Welcome to my site and thank you for giving me the opportunity to guide you through my journey to explore creativity.
My name is Gerrit Koelewijn and I am born and raised in Spakenburg, a beautiful small village in the Netherlands. Roughly 10 years ago, I cautiously started “messing around” on small canvases which has developed into a true passion. As you will see, I am fascinated by abstract shapes with a preference for circles.
Lately, my focus lies with “Acrylic pouring”, a painting technique to dilute paint in a certain way and then pour it. Although I am an autodidact, I watched hundreds of videos before I started my first “pouring” with laughable results and all went straight into the trash can. One who perseveres wins and after dozens of unsuccessful attempts, I finally got the mixing and pouring under control. Eventually I decided to combine this technique with my preference for “circles”.
Painting, pouring, sculpting or photography, no matter the form, as long this induces pleasure, inner peace and satisfaction, this will be my true motivation to continue my journey.
